It's been a bit since I last posted a blog so I apologize. Jason and I just recently returned from a 7-day cruise to the Western Caribbean. It was a load of fun but unfortunately we were following Hurricane Ida around so most of the places we stopped were pretty dismal and rainy. We had a lot of fun on the ship and hung out with our friends Pete and Sierra who were also on the ship due to Pete's sister getting married. We ate a ton of good food and I think I gained about 10 pounds! Yikes, but when you are offered dessert at anytime of the day, you take it! We also met up with our friends Paula and Ron Smith in Cozumel, Mexico. They were in Cancun for the week and took the ferry over to hang out. Jason had visited Shaver many times as a kid but I had never visited so I was pretty excited. If you don't know where Shaver is, it is located on the way up to Sierra Summit. We stayed from tuesday to saturday and it was a ghost town up until friday which was nice for us. The highlight of the trip was renting a pontoon boat for a day and fishing around the lake. However the lake hardly had any fish in it so we only caught two, not even big enough to eat. Jason caught a mini-bass and I caught a blue-gill. Pretty pathetic but it was fun none-the-less. We had a great time and the dogs love it too. Thanks to all who came out to share our lovely evening with us. The weather couldn't have been nicer after a week long heat spell. Everything (well almost everything) was perfect and we had an excellent time.
